Din Tai Fung

After a year of trying to suppress our cravings, we’ve finally decided to try Din Tai Fung dishes.

Bean Curd Puffs is the first dish that they served to us and, it is so delicious! This costs 26 AED (Php 377) per serving.
Their Chicken Fillet Egg fried rice is okay. It is tasty but the price is quite high. This one costs 38AED (Php 552).
This one is yummy! I must say that this is the best dish that was served to us that night. This Braised Beef Soup costs 26AED (Php 377) and, it’s worth every penny. The beef was so tender and the soup was tasty. I would love another bowl of this goodie meal!
Seafood Xiao Long Bao – 36AED (Php 523). Although this one reminds me of prawn dumpling from Tim Ho Wan, I would still choose Prawn dumpling over DTF’s XLB. Nonetheless, this one is a 3/5 for me.
Mister is a big fan of dumpling which is why he became curious about this Shrimp-Chicken Shumai. This one is chicken on the bottom and has a shrimp on top as shown in the picture. Final verdict, both Mister and I found its taste a bit weird. So I think we’ll just try the other variants next time. Shrimp-Chicken Shumai costs 32AED (Php 465).

In summary, we loved our first experience in Din Tai Fung. To be honest, it would be a lot better if they have chicken feet on their menu because I’ve been craving for it for a long time already. Our total bill is 190AED (Php 2,763) including drinks, VAT and, tip.  The costs pretty much explain why it took us a long time before we tried their dishes. Although it is a bit pricey, I would say that we really enjoyed this date night.
